NPW Gifts announced as finalist in The Amazon Growing Business Awards

Known for their award winning novelty gift offering and supplying retailers around the globe, NPW Gifts have been shortlisted in the Mid-sized Company (Turnover £25m-£50m) category in The Amazon Growing Business Awards.

Now in its 19th year, the awards bring together the most successful and exciting private companies in the UK. Hosted by Real Business, in partnership with the CBI, the Awards celebrate the achievements of SMEs, while highlighting the vital role they play in supporting our economy.

The next stage of the awards  is a judging day taking place on 16th October where a 20 minute interview will be conducted with finalists followed by an awards ceremony on the 29th November where the winners will be announced.

NPW WIN PLACE ON LEAGUE TABLE OF BRITAIN’S FASTEST-GROWING INTERNATIONAL SALES STARS

Award winning gift supplier, NPW were placed at No. 197 in the eighth annual Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 league table which ranks Britain’s mid-market private companies with the fastest-growing international sales.

Chief Executive Officer of NPW, Tim Wright, comments “Exports reached £13.9m in 2016, mainly to America which is headed up our US sales team based in Cincinnati. This year’s international sales are even better & the team are hoping we can make the top 100 next year.”

74 companies headquartered in London (compared to 72 last year) include 30 new entrants to the league table. Their international sales have grown by an average of 54% a year over the last two years to a total of £3.3bn, and together they now employ more than 50,000 people.

The companies in London appear with businesses from around Britain, including brewery Brewdog, childrenswear retailer Childrensalon, jewellery designer Monica Vinader, and fruit preserve maker Duerr's. Past stars range from drinks maker Fever-Tree, now worth more than £2bn, and travel search engine Skyscanner, which was bought by Ctrip, China’s largest travel company, for £1.4bn last November.

The league table reflects the importance of Europe to Britain’s mid-market exporters ahead of the Brexit negotiations. Almost 85% of the companies (167) sell to the continent, the most popular market, followed by North America (112) and Asia (75).

It is sponsored by HSBC and DHL Express, and compiled by Fast Track, the Oxford-based research and networking events firm.

Amanda Murphy, UK head of commercial banking at HSBC, commented: “This year’s Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 is testament to the exciting opportunities available to ambitious UK businesses with appetite to grow their goods and services abroad. The 74 companies in London are putting the city firmly on the map as a thriving business hub. We work very closely with our business customers to help them achieve their goals, so it makes me immensely proud to see so many of them succeed.”

Notes for editors 


Fast Track has published league tables of the UK’s top-performing private companies with The Sunday Times for the past 20 years. The company was founded and is run by Dr Hamish Stevenson, who also holds an associate fellowship at Green Templeton College, Oxford University.

League table criteria

Companies had to be registered in the UK and be independent, unquoted and ultimate holding companies. They are ranked according to the compound annual growth (CAGR) in their international sales over the latest two financial years.Total sales had to be at least £25m and international sales at least £1m in the latest financial year. Companies with sales of less than £25m are covered by our sister SME Export Track 100 league table.

The research was carried out by Fast Track principally between January and May 2017. Data on international sales can be limited. Companies filing abbreviated accounts are not required to disclose any geographical breakdown of sales, while firms that file full accounts can choose to not disclose a geographical breakdown of sales if it is prejudicial to their interests.

NPW’s Korean inspired beauty range, Oh K! struck Gold at Pure Beauty Awards!

NPW’s ‘Oh K! Cosmetic Sponge’ has been announced as the winner of the Best New Design & Packaging category at the Pure Beauty Awards. The Korean inspired beauty range was shortlisted for a staggering six categories including Best New British Brand. Beauty Junky Jewel Rose Gold Lip Balm won the Silver Award for Best New Lip Product & Oh K! Brand website, ohklife.com picked up Bronze for Best New Retail Innovation.

The Pure Beauty Awards are nationally recognised awards that are voted for by readers of the Pure Beauty Magazine and the general public. Pure Beauty is the UK's leading magazine for high street beauty and fragrance retailers read by management, beauty buyers and sales consultants every month.

On Thursday 27th October, the winners of the Pure Beauty Awards 2016 were announced at a lavish red and black ‘La Boheme’ themed ceremony hosted by comedian of the moment, Katherine Ryan at The Savoy Hotel in London.

Get a sprinkling of Seoul with the launch of NPW’s Oh K! beauty range

NPW, the home of impulse led fashion and beauty gifts, held an exclusive launch for its latest SS16 range last week. The Korean themed beauty and gift collection, Oh K!, is the product of NPW’s passion for exploring trends globally, and swiftly bringing them to the UK high street. This collection captures the essence of K-Beauty style with its carefully curated colour palette, quirky products, super cute characters and playful packaging.

The event was held at IceTank Studio London, where attendees could enjoy signature Korean themed cocktails such as ‘Seoulista’, enjoy manicures & hand massages from beauticians, witness the very best of K-pop dance as well as getting a glimpse of what’s to come with previews of the new Oh K! face mask & stationery ranges.

Press from publications such as Cosmopolitan, Pure Beauty, Emerald Street, Elle, Grazia, The Sun and Women’s Health attended the event.

NPW’s trend seeking team were inspired by their trips to South Korea (SOKO) and Seoul in particular, where they spent time trend spotting in the boutiques, flagship destinations and beauty stores of the hippest districts; Gangnam-Gu, Garosu-Gi, Myeong-Dong and Mapo-Gu.

Emma Adamson, product development manager at NPW comments; “Our trip to Seoul, right now, the capital of the world when it comes to beauty and skincare, was crazy and exhilarating and fuelled our love for all things Korean, inspiring us to create the Oh K! range. We loved the products themselves but also the emotions they evoked. You can’t help but feel happy when buying them because they are so cute, giftable and functional, encouraging ‘Happiness everyday’.

NPW’s Highly Commended Gift of the Year – Confetti Balloons add WOW factor to any occasion!

NPW’s Confetti Balloons add some serious pizzazz to the Gift of the Year awards as they are announced as Highly Commended in the Occasions category.

Apart from breaking the record for the highest-ever number of entries, The Giftware Association’s 2016 Gift of the Year competition has also won plaudits from judges for the innovative products that were shortlisted.

At a special ceremony at the NEC, attended by finalists, judges, GA retail members and sponsors, at the close of the opening day of Spring Fair 2016 (Sunday, 7 February), iconic designer Cath Kidston presented the awards to the winners of all 20 categories.

Sarah Ward, chief executive of The GA, commented: “Our returning judges have reported that this year’s standard of entries is higher than that of 2015. ‘Innovative’ is the word they have frequently used to describe shortlisted products, which is a terrific tribute to the great designers and forward-thinking suppliers that have entered these products.

Hello Handsome Muscle Miniatures Takes The Gold at Pure Beauty Awards!

NPW’s ‘Hello Handsome Muscle Miniatures’ have been announced as the winner of the Best New Male Grooming Product category at the Pure Beauty Awards.

The Pure Beauty Awards are nationally recognised awards that are voted for by readers of the Pure Beauty Magazine and the general public. Pure Beauty is the UK's leading magazine for high street beauty and fragrance retailers read by management, beauty buyers and sales consultants every month.

The awards ceremony was a Black and Gold themed event held at The Savoy, London. The exclusive occasion was hosted by Welsh TV Presenter Gethin Jones and was attended by leaders in the Beauty Industry as well as former The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE) star Lucy Mecklenburgh.

Other Gold Winners include Wilkinson, Tresemme, Batiste, Dove and Lacoste. Hello Handsome Muscle Miniatures were up against influential brands in Male Grooming, including Lynx, Remington and Philips.
